Our vision is to create a continuum of care, focusing first on emergency services and then adding support services. Our case workers help people to regain their independence. The SCCDC has helped many people and families get back on their feet.

Jenny and her three children arrived in Santa Clarita from Georgia, homeless and having nowhere to go. Jenny was a victim of domestic violence and fled her abuser. She was given a transfer from her employer, so she had a job, but had no lodging.

The Emergency Winter Shelter was open and she arrived hopeful for an answer to her needs. There Jenny and
her children were given a hot meal and temporary lodging in a nearby motel. She was also directed to daytime case management at Lutheran Social Services where bi-weekly case management and counseling took place.

Today, Jenny resides safely in her own home in Santa Clarita with her children, has hopes for a promotion at her workplace and has a new lease on life!
